Care Advocacy Counseling
What this is
Advocacy for people navigating medical, housing, and access systems—built on lived expertise, law-aware strategy, and radical integrity. You leave every session with concrete words, steps, and templates—not just talk.
My approach (why this is different)
- Voice over victory: Advocacy isn’t about crushing someone; it’s about ensuring your reality is named, heard, and respected. Outcomes matter, but we don’t trade our humanity to chase them.
- Lived + legal fluency: I’ve faced high-stakes situations myself. I pair that lived experience with rights-grounded strategy (FHA/FEHA/ADA-aware) and clear communication.
- Human-first boundaries: Everyone at the table is human. We defend needs without dehumanizing.
Who this is for
- You’re preparing for a medical visit, disability accommodation, benefits review, housing issue, school/IEP, or other access barrier.
- You want clarity, scripts, letters, and a plan you can use immediately.
- You value integrity and are not looking for aggressive tactics that harm others.
Meeting Types
🌱 Introductory Advocacy Session
~75 minutes | $135
Start here if this is your first time working with me — or if you’re bringing a new situation or subject that we haven’t covered before.
For example, if we previously built your housing advocacy plan but you now need help with a medical or workplace issue, that’s a new context — and it needs its own introductory session.
Before we meet: A short intake form gathers essentials so we can use our time well.
During this session:
- You’ll share your story, barriers, and goals.
- We’ll map your immediate needs and rights.
- You’ll leave with draft language, and an outline you can integrate into your communications right away.
(Includes written deliverables—scripts, email/letter templates, or a step-by-step plan within 24 hours.)
🔄 Follow-Up Advocacy Session
30–45 minutes | $80
For returning clients continuing the same advocacy stream we began in a prior session.
Before we meet: A brief reflection form (“what happened / what’s next”) to focus our time.
We’ll review what’s happened, troubleshoot new challenges, and refine your materials or strategy.
(Includes updated scripts/templates or action plan within 24 hours.)
🎙 Representation Add-On (limited)
By request only (after at least one live session)
If/when you need direct representation — I can attend a meeting or appointment (by phone, Zoom, or in-person if feasible) to advocate with you.
This includes a short prep call to align on tone, goals, and boundaries.
Estimated ranges (final quote depends on duration/complexity/format):
- 30-min phone: $100–125
- 60-min Zoom/in-person: $150–250
- Complex multi-party meeting: $250–400
🤝 Collaboration with Your Team (Add-On)
- With your consent, I coordinate with doctors, care managers, attorneys, or other professionals who represent you in related formats.
- Rate: $75–150/hr depending on scope and team size.

Session transcripts & recordings
- All sessions are transcribed so we both have accurate notes and nothing is lost.
- Video/audio recording may be added only with your explicit consent.
Breaks during sessions
Advocacy work can be intense. We may pause for short breaks to regulate and return with clarity. Breaks are part of the session—they increase the quality of our work.
My health & flexibility
I live with complex health conditions. If I need to reschedule, you’ll be notified as soon as possible. This ensures I can care for myself while showing up fully for you.
Consent & representation
Who must be present
- I work directly with the person impacted. If you’re booking on behalf of a loved one, they must attend the session whenever possible.
When direct participation isn’t possible
- If someone cannot participate due to medical/cognitive reasons, I can proceed only when:
- There is a verified legal authority (guardian, POA, healthcare proxy), and
- I’m confident the request aligns with the person’s best interests.
- If I have concerns about alignment or consent, I may decline or discontinue advocacy.
Confidentiality
- Everything you share is confidential. I don’t disclose details without your written consent, unless legally required (e.g., imminent risk of harm).
- In public writing/speaking, I may reference general circumstances or advocacy processes, never identifying details.
Ethics & boundaries
- No toxic tactics. I will not engage in inhumane or dehumanizing approaches.
- Human-first advocacy. We defend needs while honoring dignity—ours and others’.
- Right to decline. I may decline or discontinue work if continuing would violate these ethics.
Payment & accessibility
- Transparent rates (above) designed for sustainability—not extraction.
- Payment plans available on all services.
- Reduced-rate spots reserved each month for those in urgent financial need.
- Community sponsorships may be available (supporters can fund a session for someone).
- You’ll see payment options during booking; reach out if you need a plan or a reduced-rate spot.
Important disclaimer
I am not an attorney, and my services do not constitute legal advice. I provide advocacy, strategy, and communication support.
If your case requires legal action or representation, I encourage you to consult a licensed attorney. With your consent, I can coordinate with your legal team (additional fees may apply).
Why work with me
- Grounded in reality: I’ve turned life-threatening experiences into replicable advocacy practices.
- Law-aware strategy: Rights-informed, plain-language communication that moves systems.
- Deliverables that help today: You leave with scripts, letters, and next steps you can use immediately.
- Radical integrity: We protect your well-being while we advocate.
Philosophy (the promise)
I don’t promise that advocacy will always “win.”
I promise your voice will be clear, your truth will be on the table, and your dignity will not be erased in the process.
Call to action
Bring the situation; we’ll bring the words, the plan, and the boundaries. Ready when you are.
